Finally chose between Celcom B.Band and Broadband by DiGi. Had the opportunity of testing Celcom at home, while DiGi was a gamble as - we decided to get the package not knowing how it would perform. Well, we signed up for DiGi Explore 10GB - at RM83 per month (RM88 minus RM5 for auto-debit) - and it is worth it. Download speeds do reach the likely average of 700kbps.

they say distance makes the heart grow fonder… i can’t wait for that distance of 15,000 kilometres to become zero
On my recent trip back to Bentong, my parents decided to take Lydia on a 30 minutes ride to Raub to have a taste of Ratha’s Curry Chicken. It was something I loved but had not eaten in quite a while. I know no other eatery that serves similar tasting curry.
Ratha’s reminds me of my childhood. On occasions which my family would go back to my Dad’s hometown in Benta (another 30 minutes of so from Raub) to visit my paternal grandparents, I remember having Ratha’s Curry Chicken for one meal, and the next meal would be bread dipped in Ratha’s left-over curry. My paternal grandparents passed on several years ago, but the memory stays.
After Ratha’s, we ventured to a small village called Kampung Koman to buy some “kuih”. My parents had been ranting about it since the beginning of the journey. Well, I guess I wasn’t disappointed. My parents spent over RM50 on “kuih”. Mind you, that’s a lot, considering “kuih” costs on between RM1 to RM3.

In summary, the trip to Raub was a good one. If you’re headed to Frasers Hill, it’s worth the trip making a detour to Raub for Ratha’s Curry Chicken and the variety of “kuih” at Chop Yoon Thye, Kampung Koman (available from 2pm to about 3pm only I’m told).

Where you can find some nice mouth watering BBQ chicken, lamb, steak served with apple salad, potatoes and a slice of watermelon
As was with every other Chinese New Year, we had reunion dinners of all sorts. One which stood out this year, was with my grandparents and the family of my auntie (mom’s younger sister). Those present included a bunch of us younger ones. Half way through the dinner, one of my cousins took out her iphone to play with. We ended up playing with this application called “Face Shift” which allows users to manipulate a photo to exchange, or “shift” faces with a shake of the device. We had the most fun exchanging the photos of our grandparents’ faces with our cousins. The result? Hilarious!

Mess of Me (by switchfoot)
I am my own affliction
I am my own disease
There ain’t no drug that they could sell
No, there ain´t no drug to make me well
There ain’t no drug
There ain´t no drug
There ain´t no drug
It´s not enough
The sickness is myself
I’ve made a mess of me I wanna get back the rest of me
I’ve made a mess of me I wanna spend the rest of my life alive
I’ve made a mess of me I wanna reverse this tragedy
I’ve made a mess of me I wanna spend the rest of my life alive
The rest of my life alive!
We lock our souls in cages
inside these prison cells
It’s hard to free the ones you love
Ohh, when you can´t forgive yourself
Forgive yourself!
There ain’t no drug
There ain’t no drug
There ain’t no drug
The sickness is myself
I’ve made a mess of me I wanna get back the rest of me
I’ve made a mess of me I wanna spend the rest of my life alive
I’ve made a mess of me I wanna reverse this tragedy
I’ve made a mess of me I wanna spend the rest of my life alive
The rest of my life alive!
